On September 19, 2025, our very own Tony Kolton, CEO of Regenerative Medical Solutions (RMS), joined Drew Mariani on Relevant Radio to share an inspiring update about our mission: finding a functional cure for diabetes. The conversation was a powerful blend of science and hope for millions of patients and families touched by this disease.
Our Goal to Find a Cure for Diabetes
During the segment, Tony tells the story of how he met Dr. Jon Odorico, the existing challenges with curing diabetes, and how RMS was formed. He also mentions personal motivations to cure diabetes, including Dr. Jon Odorico’s experience with his own daughter, and how regenerative medicine and our stem cell therapy for diabetes bring real hope.
A Solution that Leverages Regenerative Medicine
Tony shared how RegenMed Solutions is using stem-cell technology to generate pancreatic islet cells capable of producing insulin. These cells could one day be transplanted into patients, restoring the body’s natural ability to regulate blood sugar, effectively reversing the disease at its root cause.
Our approach, using stem cell therapy to potentially cure diabetes, has already shown encouraging results in the lab. RMS scientists are preparing for the next phase: working with the FDA to bring this therapy into clinical trials.
Our Work is Unparalleled
Our prospective cure for diabetes is still in development, but the path forward is clear. Tony talked about how RMS is using the Edmonton Protocol, and as he said, “It’s tried, it’s true, it works.” The key differentiating factor is that RMS’s prospective cure does not require the use of anti-rejection drugs. During the interview, Tony discusses a competitor solution that does require anti-rejection drugs, and the issues with pain, and even death, that have come with this.
Tony also discussed current cures for diabetes available today, which require donor pancreases and are therefore very expensive and available to few. In contrast, RMS is developing a cure for diabetes that will be affordable and scalable. As Tony said: “This is a cure for the common people.”
