Who founded Regenerative Medical Solutions?

Regenerative Medical Solutions was co-founded by Dr. Jon Odorico, MD, FACS, a pancreatic transplant surgeon and stem cell scientist with more than 20 years of research experience in islet biology and diabetes. Dr. Odorico began his career at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in 1995, where he witnessed firsthand the limitations of donor organ transplantation as a treatment for diabetes; limitations that drove his commitment to finding a stem cell-based alternative.

When Dr. Odorico’s daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2006, his research intensified with renewed personal purpose. His laboratory went on to develop novel techniques for differentiating iPSCs into pancreatic islet-like cells, resulting in multiple patents. In 2012, these discoveries were translated into a commercial venture with the formation of RMS.

The company is led by President and CEO Anthony Kolton, alongside Dr. Odorico as Co-Founder and Scientist, and Tom Joyce as Vice President. The leadership team brings together scientific authority and entrepreneurial experience in building and growing biotechnology companies.
